Leah Valvo, MSPT, OCS, AVPT
Physical Therapist
Leah is a 1999 graduate of Ithaca College, Ithaca, New York where she received her Bachelors of Science, Minor in Psychology and Masters in Physical Therapy. She obtained her Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 2020. During the last twenty plus years of practice, Leah has had valuable experiences in a variety of settings. She started in outpatient therapy the first year. Then she moved to long term home health and medical day programs for adults for two years. These positions included mostly geriatric and neurologic populations with multiple sclerosis, stroke, joint replacements, Parkinsons, Alzheimers, and others diagnoses. Leah moved on to work for Unity Health System (now Rochester Regional Health) in the acute care setting at Unity Hospital. For over 12 years she learned how to take care of patients on all units/floors and eventually became a senior therapist in the department. Volunteers and student physical therapists were also under her supervision. Coming full circle, Leah returned to outpatient physical therapy at two different clinics before joining the team at Kulp Physical Therapy in 2019. Training and coursework includes basic and advanced Vestibular Rehabilitation, Mulligans Concept Upper and Lower Quadrants, Functional Movement Systems, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, Sahrmann’s Movement Impairment Syndromes, Advanced Pain Science Applications, and most importantly Manual Trigger Point Therapy Levels 1 and 2. As a member of Kulp Physical Therapy, Leah is excited to help patients learn how to help themselves heal and manage their conditions. Educating the patient is a priority in this clinic and is also one that she has embodied throughout her career. Having been a patient herself in this clinic before working here, Leah hopes to help her patients get back to living better.
